Together, Sponsors, Clients, Greco Schools and friends helped raise $60,000 for the Foundation To Fight Obesity in Children. It was a fun and fancy evening with guests dressed to the nines and ready to bid and support kids and their community!

Mrs. Laureen Harper, MP Pierre Poilievre and Mayor Watson also attended. Several Ottawa Senators and their wives joined in the fun, donating signed jerseys for the auction and a special cheque presentation by Popeye himself with an additional $4971.

A special Thanks to Bell Media’s Graham Richardson and Kurt Stoodley for MCing as well as Stuntman Stu for his suave auctioneering skills!

This year The Foundation has committed $10,000.00 to Holy Spirit School in Stittsvile and $25,000.00 to Ottawa Community Housing (Carson’s Rd Re-Development)

This money will be spent on outdoor playgrounds for the kids. 6 guests from the Carson Community were generously hosted by GRC Architects.

Ever since his first exposure to live music, Jay has been performing at every opportunity he can find, from local talent shows to his own concerts. His sister – now a choreographer – helped him explore his uncanny ability to impress crowds of any age. Jay started singing at the age of five and began writing songs at 13. His charm, good looks, hard work and charisma have become symbols of the artist he is today.

Jay has had a productive year, playing shows across the country with artists such as Lloyd and Trey Songz (Atlantic), with many more to come.

The expansion of the Carson Road Community by 26 additional homes is part of a $5.5 Million Dollar social housing development project led by City of Ottawa and OCH. Mr. Greco and the Lean & Fit centres across the capital have made this commitment through their charity The Foundation to Fight Obesity in Children.

The Foundation is approached weekly with requests for assistance. “ We are hearing more and more about schools and community centres whose existing play structures are being condemned with no funds available for rebuilding. “ says Greco. “The basic ability to get outside and play, interact with peers and develop basic physical and social skills is fundamental in building healthy kids.”  adds Greco. “Playgrounds are not just about providing children with an opportunity to play.”  adds Brian Gilligan, Executive Director of Community Development at OCH, “They are also a community gathering point that allows neighbors and families to meet and build friendships.”
